“I am not Anti-Hindu or Anti-Ram, Will Visit Ayodhya to Seek Blessings of Ram”: Siddaramaiah
Bengaluru: Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah, has come under criticism from the opposition BJP for supporting the decision of senior Congress leaders who declined an invitation to the consecration ceremony in Ayodhya. The BJP leaders have accused Siddaramaiah of consistently opposing the Hindu religion and being against Lord Ram. In response, the veteran leader clarified that he has never been against Hindus or Lord Ram, and his support for senior Congress leaders’ decision was misinterpreted as anti-Hindu sentiment.
Siddaramaiah announced that, following the completion of what he called the “drama” orchestrated by the BJP in Ayodhya, he intends to visit Ayodhya one day to seek the blessings of Lord Rama. He expressed his intention to share photos of the trip to counter the false narrative that he is anti-Hindu. He emphasized that his decision to stay away from the consecration ceremony was due to the belief that the event had been hijacked by BJP and RSS, turning it into a political program rather than a pure religious one.
“I have consistently mentioned that the consecration program was hijacked by BJP and RSS, transforming a pure religious event into a political one. It is for this reason that we chose not to participate. However, our decision should not be misconstrued as opposition to Gods or religion,” Siddaramaiah stated.
Highlighting that even the senior pontiff of Hindu religion, Shankracharya ji, had also decided not to go to Ayodhya on January 22, Siddaramaiah expressed curiosity about the reactions of the BJP and RSS to this information. He stated, “I am interested to observe their response to Shankracharya ji’s decision.”
